Central team ESG lead Nicki Lynn, takes time out to mark International Day of Charity

Celebrating the United Nations International Day of Charity today our ESG lead Nicki Lynn and her son Taylor have been taking some time out to support one of their local charities and give back to their community with a litter picking walk along the some of the Grand Union Canal in Milton Keynes.

The Parks Trust takes care of over 6,000 acres of green space including parks, woodlands, and lakes in Milton Keynes. The charity is dedicated to preserving and enhancing the city's green spaces, providing recreational opportunities, and fostering community well-being through sustainable park management.

Nicki explains

“We are especially lucky to have such amazing spaces on our doorstep and I feel it is important we always give back to what we enjoy in any small way. I regularly go litter picking with the children when we’re at home or away. Doing our little bit when we can does make an impact and gives the children the understanding that they must take care and respect the environment. But it goes further than that – it’s gives us time away from all those at home distractions (iPads for one!), it gives us time together to talk about everything and anything, it gives me that mental health boost of fresh air and open spaces after sitting in front of a screen and the bonus of seeing wildlife where they should be.”
